Confirmed! Romelu Lukaku Bolingoli, is now a Manchester United player on a 5 year deal with an option of a 1 year extension.

The 75 million pounds deal and possibly rising to 100 million pounds is one of  a bolt out of the blues due to the fact that Chelsea were deemed favorites to sign back their former player who they sold to Everton some years ago in the excess of 28 million pounds, but Mourinho’s Man Utd through the concerted efforts of United’s world record midfielder Paul Pogba a friend to Lukaku, both currently holidaying together in Los Angeles, and their combustible agent Mino Raiola, convinced the 25 goals 2016/2017 season striker to join the reds instead of Chelsea who his heart was initially set to return to. Incidentally it was Mourinho who sanctioned the sale of the then 20 years old Belgian striker to Everton. Lukaku however has defused news going round that a bad feeling ever existed between him and Jose Mourinho in the wake his exit from Chelsea.

This development comes as a relief for Jose Mourinho, who had Swedish defender Victor Lindelof as his solitary signing from Benfica before today’s Hollywood arrival of Lukaku. As expected, Lukaku will immediately join up with the rest of the United squad who arrived LA on Monday for the kick start of their pre season amidst mouth watering contests with top teams like Real Madrid, Barcelona, Man City, and others in the International Champions Cup. Meanwhile, Red fans will be more than happy with the arrival of a player in the mode of Lukaku, who comes with an enormous Premier league pedigree just after the unsuccessful and frustrating attempts to sign Real Madrid’s Alvaro Morata one of the options penciled down for the striker role. Believe it or not Man United hierarchy says Lukaku has always been their first choice to replace the last season’s 28goals departed Ibrahimovic, whether this is true or not is a news for another life time but hopefully Lukaku’s goals will erase the argument.

More and more, Mourinho in this moment will be an elated spirit to have signed the caliber of spear head that he craves and he can now look forward, and focused to doing a very good pre season while United transfer gurus go on assiduously to deliver other targets notably, Inter Milan’s wing wizard Ivan Perisic. Furthermore, for the neutrals Lukaku signing means a statement of intent from a team who has lost her spark since the departure of the legendary Sir Alex Ferguson but in Jose they have a serial trophy collector judging from last season’s 3 trophies delivered at the first time asking. The 2017/2018 PL will in no doubt be very interesting as we wait to see how other teams will react to Manchester United’s latest attacking onslaught.
